100 B.C. - 1000 A.D.

500 B.C. - 200 A.D.

900 -1100 A.D.

Which means that their are possibilities for contacts/influences between Uppåkra/Claterna at the start of the first millennium AD and between Uppåkra/Jomsburg at the end of the first millennium AD.
The project starts with information about the archaeological and historical heritage on each site is given to the pupils and teachers in the involved classes. This basic knowledge will stimulate the pupils mind, and they will create their own questions and speculations, which they will actively search the solutions of. The same basic information will also be published on a common WEB-site of the project in four languages: Swedish, Polish, Italian and English. These four languages will make it possible for the WEB-site to reach out to many people, and that is a main purpose. At this WEB-site the involved pupils also will be given a chance to exchange knowledge during the project.

The results of the pupils own questions will be discussed at a seminar with the archaeological experts, and the pupils can get help with questions that were difficult. The results from the pupils searching of information will be presented on the WEB-site.
The pupils "Education and searching information"-phase of the project has created pictures in their minds, which they now will express through drawings and paintings. Those illustrations, from the three different towns, will be presented in a virtual gallery at the common WEB-site.
The information and the results on the WEB-site will also inspire invited local artists in the three towns to shape their illustration through drawings and paintings. Those work of art will also be presented in a virtual gallery at the common WEB-site, and as a part of the touring exhibition.

A touring exhibition will be the final part of the project. The participating countries will form their own part of the exhibition, and then the three parts will be put together and function as a touring exhibition. The exhibition will be formed out of drawings and paintings, archaeological finds, and information about the project and the three archaeological sites. Involved pupils will accompany the exhibition and give presentations and speeches at each place. The exhibition is open to the public, and will be staying at each of the three places for one week.

Education and searching information:
In all the participating countries an introduction to the project will be given to the involved teachers and pupils (14-15 years old), and at each place experts from the archaeological institutions will give them basic knowledge about their historical heritage in the first millennium AD. This basic information will give the pupils a possibility to create their own questions to try and find answers to. The same basic information will also be published on the common WEB-site of the project in four languages: Swedish, Polish, Italian and English.
The results from the pupils searching information will be presented on the WEB-site.
During the search for information, the pupils imagination have been inspired, so now they are welcome to express their own pictures of the places in an illustrating phase.
At the end of the project, pupils will also follow the touring exhibition and then give presentations at the three places.

The main point with education and searching information is to make the involved pupils aware of their historical heritage. The pupils results will then spread knowledge, which will reach out to many more people, for example through the WEB-site.
The preliminary time-schedule for education and searching information and then to form a report to the WEB-site, is from September – December 2004.

Publishing:
The creating of a common WEB-site is an important part of the project. The information about the project and the three places will be presented to the public here, and so will also the results of the pupils searching information, and the virtual gallery from the illustrating phase. The pupils will also be able to exchange information here during the project, and hopefully make contacts that will last after the project end.
The main purpose of this WEB-site is to make information about the project and the three places available to as many people as possible. That’s why everything will be presented in four languages: Swedish, Polish, Italian and English. The site will also be updated with news and new information even after the project has ended, and not stand still because of this.
Hopefully, the awareness created by this site, can inspire to a further economic support to the activities necessary to make a part of these heritages in different ways available to the public, and to keep science going, seeking for more answers.
The three participating countries will during the project have the same activities. The only difference is the creating of the WEB-site. All information and all results will be sent to Sweden, where the project-manager and the WEB-editor will form the site.
The site will be built bit by bit during the project, with a time-schedule reaching from September 2004 – March/April 2005.

Illustrating:
The pupils education and searching information phase of the project has created pictures in their minds which they now can express through drawings and paintings. Those illustrations, from the three different countries, will be presented in a virtual gallery at the common WEB-site.
The information and the results on the WEB-site will also invite and inspire local artists in the three countries to shape their illustration through drawings and paintings. Those work of art will also be presented in a virtual gallery at the common WEB-site.
The main purpose is to show how the awareness of the historical heritage can be expressed in more than words, and to give history another dimension through imagination. The history will be given life through the drawings and paintings.
This will also give the local artists a chance to show their work of art, and hopefully make new connections. The preliminary time-schedule for this illustrating phase will be from January 2005 - March 2005.

Touring exhibition:
The touring exhibition will be the final part of the project. The participating countries will form their own part of the exhibition, and then the three parts will be put together and function as a common touring exhibition. The exhibition will be formed out of drawings and paintings, archaeological finds, and information about the project and the three places.
The exhibition is open to the public, and will be staying at each of the three places for one week. It will be presented by pupils from the involved schools in Staffanstorp, Ozzano and Wolin.
The main purpose is to give the public and the schools knowledge about these three places and their history.
Hopefully the awareness created by this exhibition, (as well as the awareness created by the WEB-site mentioned before), will result in more economic support to help keep the cultural heritages available to the public in different ways. By doing so the understanding of the situation today will be seen with a historical perspective, which is important. Further economic support is also necessary to keep science going, and the three places have so much more to give concerning science, and through science, knowledge to the public. The preliminary time-schedule for the touring exhibition is set to April-May 2005.
