The pupils at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde.
The pupils also visited the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde to get further inspiration for their work with the project. They took photographs and wrote a report about their visit:

“On our trip to the Roskilde Viking Ship Museum, one of the things that we did was that we looked on a film about how they built one of the ships in the same way as they did in the Viking Age. The ships they built were 30 m long and could load up to 80 men. We also got a guided tour in the other rooms where the Viking ships were. The guide told us that one of the ships had wood from Norway. In the Roskilde fjord where they found the ships, there were three places that ships could sail through to get to the village. So what the Vikings did was that they blocked two of the three places so that they could only come in through the last one. The ships they were sailing were not only warships, they were also trade ships. The trade ships were shorter and wider than the warships. The rope they used was normally made of horsehair. The Vikings did not have horns on their helmets. That would have made them to heavy and their enemies would have a much bigger chance of hitting their heads.”
